Hotels in Rio de Janeiro

Copacabana Palace. In Copacabana beach. Probably the most famous hotel in Brazil. Several Hollywood celebrities stayed here. Having just turned eighty years, the hotel was declared a historial heritage site. Its restaurants rank amongst the best places in Rio.

JW Marriot. In Copacabana, open in 2001. Make sure you have a room with a view to the ocean. Like most hotels near the beach, there are chairs, parasols and towels available for guests going to the sand.

Le Meridien. One of the tallest building in Rio, Meridien has an award-winning restaurant on the 37th floor, with a breath taking view. On the Copacabana New Year´s Eve, a firework cascade falls from the top floor down the façade, which has become one of the highlights of the celebrations (notice that the view is much better from the outside). The hotel was completely renovated in 2000.

Caesar Park. Considered the most luxurious hotel in Ipanema, the Caesar´s prime location facing Posto 9 puts it at the center of the bustle of this famous beach.

Sheraton Barra. Opened in 2003, this is the best hotel in the Barra da Tijuca area. The building is only fifteen floor tall, but each of them is large, calling for long corridors. Much seeked by business men.

Marina All Suites. Located by the Leblon beach, this hotel has good facilities and 38 suites with ocean view. Eight of these suites were designed by well-regarded interior designers and architects.

Sheraton Rio Hotel and Towers. This huge hotel has a nice private beach, but it´s a little distant from other tourist points. The whole infrastructure is excellent, from the pool to the gym; the hotel offers a gorgeous view of the Cagarras islands and the Leblon and Ipanema beaches.
