Japan Team in the Asian Cup 2011

In January 2011, Japan wins Asia Cup 2011


Japan was the champion of the 15th Asia Cup, which took place in Qatar; Australia was runner up, and Korea finished in third position.

Some of the Japanese players (see full squad): Kawashima (GK); Inoha, Iwamasa, Konno, Nagamoto, Uchida; Endo, Kagawa, Honda (most valuable player of tournament); Matsui, Okazaki, Maeda, Tadanari (scored the last goal).
Coach: Alberto Zaccheroni (coaching Japan since August 2010).

By winning the Asian Cup, Japan secured a place to participate of the Confederations Cup 2013, in Brazil.
