The Stadium Arena Capibaribe and the Complex City of the Cup will be built in the municipality of Sao Lourenço da Mata, in the metropolitan region of Recife.
Attempts were made to find space in or closer to Recife, but prices of land proved too expensive. The City of Cup will be built in an area which belongs to the State of Pernambuco.



Project design: Recife Local Committee.

Estimated cost: R$ 464 million (for the Arena alone).
Capacity: 46,140 seats (8th biggest of the World Cup).
Besides the Arena, the Complex City of the Cup will comprehend: shopping center, hospital, technical school, parks, residence for 9,000 families.

Meaning of name: Capibaribe is the river which cuts across the State of Pernambuco and washes Sao Lourenço da Mata and Recife.
