Central Bank maintains interest rates
The COPOM - Monetary Policy Committee held their monthly meeting yesterday (August 17th) and decided to maintain the basic interest rates in 19.75%; this is the third month in a row that the rate is not changed.
As inflation continues declining (forecast for the next twelve months are now under 6%), Brazil maintains the status of country with the highest interest rate in the world.
